Play Monopoly With Friends Online — Private Room, One Link
You can play online board games with friends free at opolyx — a Monopoly-style game right in the browser. Create a private room, share the link, and up to six of you join from your own devices anywhere and roll on the same board in real time, with chat and stickers. Perfect for a virtual game night.
opolyx is a free, online, multiplayer board game in the spirit of Monopoly: buy properties, build, charge rent, trade, and try to bankrupt your friends. The whole point is playing together — you open a private room, send one link, and everyone is on the same board at the same time, whether they are in the next room or on another continent.
How to start a game with friends
- 1Create a private room
Open opolyx and create a room. It is yours — you invite friends with its link and can remove anyone you did not invite.
- 2Choose mode and seats
Pick one of the six modes and set how many seats you want, anywhere from 2 to 6 players.
- 3Share the link
Copy the room link and drop it into your group chat, a DM, or your video call. That is the whole invite.
- 4Friends join from anywhere
Each friend taps the link and takes a seat from their own phone, tablet or computer — no app to download.
- 5Roll and play
Take turns rolling, buy streets, trade, and chat with stickers until one player owns the board.
Why it is a great game for friends online
- Free to play — start a full game with friends without paying anything.
- Private rooms over a shared link, and you can remove anyone you did not invite.
- Up to 6 players, plus a Team mode of two or three a side if you want to team up.
- In-game chat with stickers and emotes to talk trash between rolls.
- Short a player? Add smart bots to fill the empty seats.
- No download, no ads, and it runs on phones, tablets and computers.
A virtual game night, the easy way
For a virtual game night you want something everyone can join in seconds, with no setup and no rulebook arguments. opolyx fits: there is nothing to install, sign-in is a one-tap magic link with no password, and the game runs the rules for you — turns, rent, auctions and trades are all handled by the game. Pick Speed mode when you want a quick round, or Classic when you have a whole evening.
Playing with long-distance friends
Because everyone plays from their own device, distance does not matter — a friend across the country joins the same way someone on your couch would. It works alongside a video call, too: keep the call open in one window for faces and laughter, and opolyx in another for the board. The shared room link is all anyone needs to be dealt in.
What kind of game is opolyx?
To be straight about it: opolyx is a board game, specifically a Monopoly-style property-trading dice game — not a whole arcade of party mini-games. If you are after a board game your group can play online together for free, it is built exactly for that. It is not affiliated with Hasbro or MONOPOLY; opolyx is its own brand.
Frequently asked questions
Can you play online board games with friends for free?
Yes. At opolyx you can create a private room, invite friends with a link, and play a full Monopoly-style board game together for free — no download and no purchase.
What can we play for a virtual game night?
opolyx is a great pick for a virtual game night: a free online Monopoly-style board game that up to 5 friends join from a shared link, with chat and a quick Speed mode for shorter rounds.
How do we play with long-distance friends?
Everyone plays from their own device, so long-distance friends join the exact same way as anyone else — you share the room link, they tap it, and you are all on the same board in real time.
Can we play over a video call?
Yes. opolyx works alongside a video call — keep the call open for faces and chatter and opolyx open for the board. Just drop the room link into the call chat so everyone can join.
How many friends can join?
From 2 to 6 players per game, including a Team mode of two or three a side. If you are short a player, you can add smart bots to fill the remaining seats.
Do my friends need to install anything?
No. opolyx runs in the web browser on phones, tablets and computers, so your friends just open the link — there is nothing to download or install.
Do we all need accounts to play together?
Sign-in is a one-tap magic link sent to your email, with no password. An account keeps your friends, level and progress between games and lets you rejoin a board if your connection drops.
